Long Weekend

This weekend I was away for work supporting an Epic "Go Live" at another hospital.  Mollie made sure I did not miss any of the fun by sending me pictures of the kids.  Here are a couple:

Dylan has been very interested in guitars lately and has been pretending anything and everything is his guitar so I made him a "real" guitar out of cardboard. Sorry the audio is so quiet:(

long overdue update!

Our last blog entry was (yikes!) in November and we (I mean, RYAN) didn't mention the newest member of our family: Rylie Rose.

Rylie arrived early in the morning on Oct 29th which was also Dylan's second birthday!

I started having contractions just before midnight while Ryan and Joel were enjoying beers in our newly finished (yay!) basement.  Ryan happened to mention to Joel that he hoped I wouldn't go into labor that night and knocked on a fake wooden end-table.  I guess that was a mistake...Anyway, Grandma Rosie got a phone call around 12:30 to please hurry and come over to take care of D while we went to the hospital.  I swear it took her forever to get here!  I later found out the new construction in Sartell had confused her in the middle of the night and she missed the turn into our neighborhood.  We arrived at the hospital at 1:30 and Rylie arrived at 2:55 am after a fast and furious delivery (I'm glad that's over with).

Celebrating D's 2nd bday

The cake was courtesy of Papa Barney and it was delicious! No, he didn't bake it but he did buy it and brought along some yummy ice cream to go with it. Note D's shirt says, "Big brother in charge!"

Dylan Plays the Harmonica

We were visiting Papa Bob and Grandma Trixie a couple weeks ago and Papa bob taught Dylan how to play the harmonica.  Here is Dylan's first concert with the help of Grandpa Bob.  The concert was in celebration of my uncle Tom, aunt Kelly and my cousin Kirby coming to town.

Here is a little video I shot yesterday. The neighbor taught Dylan to Jump off the bottom step. He tries so hard but still has not mastered the landing. In the third clip I told Dylan to jump REALLY high. He does not understand the difference between "Hi" and "high".

3. NO HELMET - He NEVER has to wear it again!!!!

2. Swimming - he survived the hot days swimming in Uncle Ben's pool

Week Off

Mollie and I took a week off of work to enjoy the 4th of July, get some things done around the house and take a little summer vacation to the wonderful town of Breckenridge, Co.

Over the fourth we made it to my old neighborhood to visit with friends but Dylan did not make it to the fireworks so we missed the St. Cloud fireworks show. the next morning we road the wobegon trail to Albany with Justin and Tara for a wonderful breakfast at the hilltop.

On Wednesday morning Mollie and I flew to Co. to finish up some wedding planning and take a little vacation. Aunt Nikki, Grandma Trixie and Grandpa Bob all helped us out by watching Dylan. I am not sure who had more fun Dylan or aunt Nikki.

We ended the wonderful weekend celebrating Mollie's Birthday at Mollie's uncle Ricks cabin on Saturday and eating crab legs with Rosie and Barnie on Sunday.
